Passion About Plastic Surgery In Chicago - Kouris MD - Hinsdale, IL

Plastic surgery is something that I'm very passionate about. It really stems from a childhood experience as far as why I wanted to first get into the field of medicine. My younger sister was in a motor vehicle accident and was injured pretty badly. As a result of that experience, we were constantly as children around physicians, doctors, physical therapists. That really prompted my interest from a very young age in the field of medicine. As I pursued my aspirations to become a physician, I specifically was drawn to the surgical field. I just liked the immediate impact surgery had on patients and patients' lives.

When I began my training in surgery and rotated through plastic surgery, it became very clear to me that the transformation that we're able to achieve surgically with surgery, to me, was very awe-inspiring. It was a very immediate impact. We can make immediate changes and take somebody who is potentially dissatisfied or moderately satisfied and make them very satisfied at the end of the day. This, to me, is a very powerful thing. I take what I do very seriously. I treat my patients as I do my own family members. The trust that they put in me and in my hands really, to me, is second to none. I respect that, and I care for my patients very strongly as a result of that.
