About the Mommy Makeover
Dr. George Kouris, a board-certified aesthetic plastic surgeon, regularly meets with women who want their pre-pregnancy physique back. While childbirth is a miraculous, wonderful moment in a woman’s life, it inevitably will change the look, shape, and size of certain body parts — and could leave one feeling a little frustrated. The most exciting news is that it's achievable to once again attain a slim and taut appearance with the assistance of the mommy makeover surgery performed at Kouris M.D. Cosmetic Plastic Surgery. This surgery uses a combination of fat removal and skin tightening to reshape the abdomen and breasts, and other affected body parts — basically any body part affected by weight gain or nursing can be addressed. Furthermore, nonsurgical treatments can be incorporated to repair surface imperfections, such as hyperpigmentation and discoloration, from the rapid stretching and fluctuation of the skin during pregnancy.

"I will start by mentioning that Dr. Kouris is an excellent doctor all-around. He is compassionate, very knowledgeable, extremely polite, and has a wonderful team - Sheila and Suzy are the best!I have known Dr. Kouris since 2017. I had 3 procedures - Breast reduction, Tummy Tuck and brow lift. I am 54 years old looking like i am in my 40s. I love all 3 of my procedures but my brow lift is incredibly natural. No one realizes what I had done. I am receiving compliments about how young I look. Ultimately, I believe the doctor that makes you look younger and feel extremely confident in your own skin has a magic touch! I highly recommend him to anyone who is in the search of doing any plastic surgery. Give Dr. Kouris a shot, you will not be disappointed."- M.K. / Google / Dec 27, 2019

I felt like I was in very capable hands with Dr Kouris, his nurse Sheila, and the whole office staff from start to finish. I will definitely recommend Dr Kouris to anyone searching for a qualified plastic surgeon."- M.S. / Google / Dec 20, 2019
"UPDATE: The clinic called me back and asked if I could come in for complementary Botox to make up for the previous problems. The appointment went well. I met with Dr. Kouris and let him know that he didn't have to completely comp the Botox but he insisted and profusely apologized. He is a nice man and he truly care about his patients and their time. Kudos to him for making things right:) I’ll start with saying that I hardly ever write a poor review. However, I am very disappointed with this clinic. I made an appointment over a month ago for the 12th of December and let the receptionist know that I would be coming in during my lunch break. She assured me that they would be able to see me in a timely manner. I was supposed to be receiving a consult for skincare as well as Botox. Eight days before my appointment, I was contacted by Dr. Kouris’ receptionist reminding me of my appointment on the 5th. I let her know that she was mistaken that my appointment was made for the 12th as my husband was out of town during the 5th and I would not have made an appointment for that day. She apologized and updated her schedule for the 12th. On the 9th I was once again contacted by the receptionist letting me know that the individual who would be assisting with the skincare consult would be out of the country on the 12th and would not be able to see me during my appointment and let me know that I would need to make another appointment to see her. I was a bit bothered by this given this was the second “mishap” with scheduling but she let me know that she would have the person give me a call the following day so I could at least speak with her. I thought it was a nice gesture, so I agreed. I was able speak with the individual but as expected, she ultimately said she would need to see me to make any definite suggestions. Well, today I showed up for my appointment at 12:00 and was given paperwork to complete. I let the receptionist know, once again, that I was on my lunch break and needed to be sure they were aware that I didn’t have much time. She let me know that she would remind the clinic team and not to worry, they would get me back in time. Well, 45 minutes later, I was still waiting to see someone from the clinic staff. I had to leave before seeing anyone. The receptionist said “Sorry, we had another patient JUST stall everything”. I told her that I was more bothered by the fact that nothing had been communicated to me than the fact that they were running behind. I was also bothered by the receptionist lack of concern that I had to leave before being seen. I would expect more than a simple “sorry”. The explanation was only given after I prompted for more information. A clinic that allows the receptionist to be the face of the organization should strive for a more sympathetic, organized, communicative, individual."- E.Z. / Google / Dec 20, 2019
Ideal candidates for this surgery are females who have gone through childbearing and have tried to achieve a slimmer, tighter figure through a clean diet with little result. In many post-pregnancy cases, surgical intervention is needed to once again have their pre-pregnancy body. If you are past childbearing and are feeling hopeless with the effects remaining on your body, such as deflated, sagging breasts, wrinkled skin in the abdominal area, or undesirable areas of pockets of fat in the hips, flanks, lower back, and buttocks, this procedure could be perfect for you. The overall goal of Dr. Kouris is to help you get back your pre-pregnancy shape so you can get back to living life without feeling self-conscious.
The mommy makeover procedure is a unique surgery tailored for women by Dr. Kouris based on the areas of concern to be enhanced. A variety of procedures can be considered together — the most popular treatments are a breast lift, breast implants, tummy tuck, and liposuction. These surgeries are performed while the patient is under general anesthesia, lasting 3 – 7 hours, depending on the complexity. Also, a day-long stay in our on-site recovery suite may be needed. It is common to also incorporate nonsurgical methods, such as an injection or a laser treatment, to smooth facial wrinkles and diminish surface imperfections.
What to Expect
Once leaving the hospital, you will begin your recovery at home with rest. The overall recovery is generally a lengthy process. Walking will be difficult the first few days, and a thorough, at-home care protocol will be adhered to in order to make sure the incisions heal properly. Most women find the healing process can last around six months. Even while the primary recovery could take months, the majority of women are able to resume a somewhat normal routine within several weeks. Exercise should be held off for about two months. In the end, the mommy makeover procedure at Kouris M.D. Cosmetic Plastic Surgery can be life-changing for women, creating a newfound love for their new shape once again.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a mommy makeover cost?
Mommy makeover costs will vary greatly, depending on which procedures are part of your surgical plan. During your consultation, Dr. Kouris will need to develop your treatment plan and then he will be able to discuss possible costs. A mommy makeover is about rejuvenating your body and confidence after having children so it is best to concentrate on getting the results you want rather than shopping for the cheapest surgeon. Kouris M.D. Cosmetic Plastic Surgery takes several payment methods, and we can give you information on finding low-interest medical financing to make your mommy makeover more affordable.
How do I decide what to include in my mommy makeover?
During your initial consultation with Dr. Kouris, he will understand your needs and concerns before performing a physical examination. Following this, he can give you suggestions on what to include in your mommy makeover. Most women include breast surgery (an augmentation, lift, or both) along with a tummy tuck and liposuction.
What about nonsurgical treatments?
Childbirth and pregnancy are hard on your body, which is why nonsurgical procedures usually aren't enough to produce the results you want. In your consultation, Dr. Kouris will discuss both nonsurgical and surgical treatments. After listening to your concerns and goals, he will tell you about any nonsurgical procedures that he believes will help you achieve your aesthetic goals.
Will I have scars?
Although a mommy makeover gives you a rejuvenated figure, it does leave surgical scars. Dr. Kouris will make every effort possible to create clean incisions that are as small as possible. Most scars will be placed so they can be concealed with swimsuits and underwear. When reviewing your post-surgical care instructions, Dr. Kouris or a member of his team will give you tips on scar care so your incisions heal properly.
What if I get pregnant again?
Ideally, you should hold off on getting a mommy makeover until your family is complete so your results aren't compromised. In most cases, all treated areas of your body are at risk for changing if you got pregnant again. Should you have another child after a mommy makeover, another surgery may be done to restore your results.
